December's Cop Out Post
When you don't have a solid idea for your monthly Substack, give the people something they didn't ask for.
Twas the night before the next month, and all through Jay’s mind,
several LOW NOTES ideas existed of a much varied kind.
Some were inspirational, some were entertaining,
some were confessional, some were just complaining.
One was on Legacies, and how you wish to be remembered
Another was on STRANGE ART, like mannequins dismembered.
He considered a “Best of…” list coming off as completely self-serving,
As a last resort, he’d show some selfies, but that would be unnerving.
Instead of those fantastic options, he devised at the last minute
a cute little bit of rhythmic verse with some clever rhyming in it.
But now he must press “Publish,” as consistency he seeks,
wondering desperately to himself, “How do people write these every weeks?”
And now he heads back to the #5amWritersClub to work on his clever stories,
while most of the world is still asleep, and dreaming with the loudly snories.
To all of those still reading, with your words, I hope you’re not fighting.
Remember all you crazy kids to always #KeepFuckingWriting.

love this as a writer still struggling with December's post
Love it! Made me smile this morning!
