Morning Writers: How to edit your NaNoWriMo project
Ahh, November! That magical month of the year where tens of thousands of inspired and energetic writers—while they ride the leftover Halloween candy sugar-high—attempt to write 50,000 words in one month.
If you are one of the brave souls who succeeds at writing 1,667 words every day in November, you are rewarded with bragging rights and…a hot mess of a book. Many NaNo novels never progress beyond that stage and linger behind either due to exhaustion, impostor’s syndrome, or the fearful next step: WHAT’S NEXT?
Making a masterpiece out of a mess is a challenge in and of itself, but it’s been done before! Now, it’s your turn!
In the November version of Morning Writers, your hosts Jay Heltzer & Julia F. Green will discuss editing strategies for NaNo drafts and the many successful and unsuccessful ways to move beyond a shitty first draft and venture down the road to literary coherence. Pantsers and plotters alike are invited to share their tales of woe and triumph in the editing trenches.
If you’re one of these annual autumnal adventurers, bring your plan of attack to the next Morning Writers session. Share your game plan with the rest of us and we’ll see if we can collectively make it better or… MAKE IT WORSE! (IYKTYK! )
Join us on Wednesday, Nov 29th 8:30 ET via the Zoom link below. Bring us your horror stories and your dramatic denouements of NaNoWriMo. And don’t forget to bring a friend as well.
